Theatre Maker 〰️

Hello! I’m Anna Murton - a theatre-maker with over 37 years of experience as an actor, director, writer, teacher/trainer and clown in both the UK and the Netherlands.

My work as a teacher/trainer is all about creating collaborative, actor-driven processes that encourage curiosity and imaginative boldness. I am passionate about guiding emerging artists and empowering students to take ownership of their creative voices.

As a director, I love building collaborative rehearsal rooms where performers feel supported, challenged and inspired. I am committed to fostering generous, inventive ensembles and shaping stories with clarity, humour and emotional resonance. I work on scripted and devised pieces and offer bespoke workshops in character development, devising and physical theatre forms.

Whether I’m writing, directing, performing or guiding a workshop, my goal is always the same: to help stories land with truth, humour and heart.

Anna was the perfect lifesaver and took fantastic leadership in getting the piece on stage in a very short time. Her initiative in planning, set design, props, and sound was greatly appreciated.
