Puppetry Workshops

What is it that makes us believe a bundle of paper can breathe? A piece of wood can feel? A puppet can make us laugh, cry, or break our hearts?

In these workshops, we step into the beautiful illusion of bringing the inanimate to life. We begin with the quiet fundamentals of puppetry—breath, weight, and focus. These simple principles are the spark that awakens an object and invites an audience to believe.

Together we'll play with found objects, brown paper puppets, hand puppets, rod puppets, and eventually full-bodied puppets, discovering how each one asks to move, to breathe, and to exist in the world. We'll explore posture, rhythm, gesture, and voice, uncovering the unique character that lives within every puppet and learning how stories emerge through movement as much as words.

Puppetry asks us to look closely. To notice the smallest shift of weight, the gentlest breath, the tiniest glance. It teaches generosity, deep listening, and presence. As we breathe life into a puppet, something quietly comes alive in us too.

A puppet can reveal truths that are difficult to speak aloud. It can be wonderfully foolish, gloriously brave, deeply flawed, wildly curious, and endlessly compassionate. It reminds us that our imperfections are often where our humanity shines brightest.

Whether you are a performer, maker, teacher, storyteller, or simply someone drawn to curiosity and play, these workshops offer a space to experiment, imagine, and discover. Come and experience the extraordinary moment when paper, cloth, wood, and imagination become something that seems to have a soul—and perhaps discover a little more of your own along the way.
